Exhibits

We try to illustrate a plate number example of each U.S. stamp, including some varieties, but sometimes a website is a poor substitute for seeing the real thing.

Here are some shows where APNSS members have exhibited plate number material.

PNC3 member illustrated has exhibited his extensive collection of plate number varieties of the 20¢ Flag Over Supreme Court coil and related material at numerous shows, including winning an award at Boston 2026.

APNSS member Carl Shaff II exhibited "Used Plate Numbers of the U.S. Nineteenth Century" at the 2007 Mega Event, held in New York City.

Wallace Cleland exhibited plate numbers of the final series of the U.S. newspaper stamps at Chicagopex, 2006. This exhibit was the impetus for further research into plate position types on flat plate and offset postage stamp printings 1890-1936 and their listings in Hebert's.
