June 17:

  • In response to a visitor's request, I have re-done a number of Examples pages using a larger and more legible font for the descriptions.  I started at the front of the list, so if you are waiting for a later page, please email me and I'll try to get to it sooner.
  • Booklet panes with plate numbers have been added to the Second Bureau Issue page.
  • Since I can't find examples of plate number singles of all of the Offices in China issues, I have temporarily added scans of plate blocks.  Please email me if you have scans of PNS to add to this page.
  • News older than 3 months is now archived.  There's a link to the Archives at the bottom of this page.
  • It has been reported that some stamp images can be viewed fine in Netscape 7.1 but do not display well (or at all) when using Internet Explorer 6.0.  If you notice PNS examples that don't display, please email me (there's an automatic link at the bottom of each web page) and tell me which images have the problem.  Please mention what browser you are using (how do you get to the Internet?) and I'll try renaming the image and re-uploading it, as that frequently solves the problem.

June 15:  You can now receive an email automatically every time this page changes.  Just click on the link at the bottom of this page.

APNSS president Eric Chaulsett will be hosting an APNSS table at the American Philatelic Society's STAMPSHOW from August 12-15 in Sacramento, California.  It will be held in the Convention Center in downtown Sacramento.

Our table will display some plate number singles as well as color copies of stamps.

We will also be displaying PNS's on postcards set up on easels.

We will have a stereo-microscope set up to view a very partial plate number and have visitors attempt to guess the actual number.  Copies of Jim Ragsdale's article on How To Determine Partial Plate Numbers will be available.

Any West Coast members wishing to help staff the table during show hours would be really welcome.  If anyone has ideas or would like to provide any materials, they would be appreciated.  Email APNSS president Eric Chaulsett for details.

Eric is looking forward to seeing any of our members at the show and recruiting new ones.  Please stop by the table and say Hello!
