JUNE 2004
June 19:
Examples of plate number material for U.S. possessions have been added.
Stamps qualify if they are overprints of regular U.S. issues. See
the Examples page.
June 17:
- In
response to a visitor's request, I have re-done a number of
Examples pages using a larger and more legible font for the
descriptions. I started at the front of the list, so if you are
waiting for a later page, please email me and I'll try to get to it
sooner.
- Booklet panes with plate numbers have been added to
the
Second Bureau Issue page.
- Since I can't find examples of plate number singles of all of the
Offices in China issues, I have temporarily
added scans of plate blocks. Please email me if you have scans of
PNS to add to this page.
- News older than 3 months is now archived. There's a link to
the Archives at the bottom of this page.
- It has been reported that some stamp images can be viewed fine in
Netscape 7.1 but do not display well (or at all) when using Internet
Explorer 6.0. If you notice PNS examples that don't display,
please email me (there's an automatic link at the bottom of each web
page) and tell me which images have the problem. Please mention
what browser you are using (how do you get to the Internet?) and I'll
try renaming the image and re-uploading it, as that frequently solves
the problem.
June 15: You
can now receive an email automatically every time this page changes.
Just click on the link at the bottom of this page.

coil of the Sea Coast self-adhesive, and of the new 3,000 coil, and can
report that the second printing (P2222) is noticeably more "red" than the
original, which is paler and more "orange." While there is
apparently no significant design difference to cause Scott to
assign a major catalog number, the color difference may
warrant an eventual minor Scott listing.

of 10,000 that was issued in 2003. The original 2003 stamps have
plate number P1111, while the 2004 stamps have plate number P2222.

Our table will display some plate number singles as well as color
copies of stamps.

We will have a stereo-microscope set up to view a very partial plate
number and have visitors attempt to guess the actual number. Copies
of Jim Ragsdale's article on How To Determine Partial Plate Numbers will
be available.
Any West Coast members wishing to help staff the table during show
hours would be really welcome. If anyone has ideas or would like to
provide any materials, they would be appreciated.
Email APNSS president Eric Chaulsett for details.
